Live action drama and 3-D model animation. Rachel's world is turned upside down on her 7th birthday when she becomes homeless after her mother goes missing. Tired, lost and hungry she wanders the streets with her little brother Danny, finding shelter where she can, until a kindly shop owner decides to help and gives them some food...

Production notes
After our initial meeting at Coombshead Community College, we set up a production website so that all the participants could keep up to date with developments and contribute to the project as it evolved. Details about the film, including location recce photographs, the Street Rat song lyrics and mp3, and production documentation are here: We removed the feedback section to prevent random sexual postings.

Publication and comments
“I thought that the combination of animation and the serious subject matter of the live action was perfectly judged. The beautiful colour and light of the animation sequences added an extra dimension to the film and transcended the dark nature of the drama. This is a very impressive production full of integrity.” Mark Beeson, Artistic Director of MED Theatre
